The singer found it “scary” because he realized it was a lot of responsibility and wondered if being a stepfather was harder or perhaps more challenging than being a biological one. However, the answer to his questions was reportedly around the corner.

A source claimed Stefani had wanted “nothing more than to give” her husband “his own child.” The insider alleged that the country singer’s wife had “decided to give IVF another chance a few months ago” after taking a break from trying to have a baby.

The songstress had reportedly given up on in-vitro fertilization (IVF) because it wasn’t working and emotionally taxing, but she decided to try again. Shelton leaving “The Voice” after season 23 would allow him to be a more present father.

The vocalist and her husband chose IVF after failing to conceive naturally, and numerous rounds and treatments accomplished nothing. The process affected them mentally and physically, and doctors told Stefani to give her body a breather.

A source claimed Stefani put a lot of pressure on herself to conceive for Shelton, causing him to get affected too, and he hated seeing her that way. The singer stopped and focused on their engagement in 2020, the following year’s wedding, her career, and her children.

Then a few months ago, in 2022, the couple visited a Los Angeles specialist. The No Doubt member started eating healthier, doing acupuncture, meditating, and more to get ready, and in early December that year, it was revealed she “finally got pregnant,” reportedly.

The couple’s dream came true, with Stefani allegedly carrying her fourth child at age 53! Some reports have already come out stating that Shelton’s wife was already sporting a sign that she was pregnant!

A source claimed her friends were excited about her pregnancy, while she and her husband were reportedly “beyond overjoyed” and considered it a “Christmas miracle.”

Two days later, Shelton, then 46, shared a social media photo of him and his wife posing for images at the event. He noted how she was his “favorite person” and said he was “proud” of her, with one fan asking below the post:

“Is that a baby bump?”

A second person congratulated the couple, revealing how happy they were for the pair because they were “increasing your family!” The fan sent the couple “many blessings” from God.

A third person also noticed the allegedly baby bump and noted how Shelton would make a “great father!!” According to other sources, the couple was already preparing for their fourth offspring, with the country star ready to be a father as he was already a doting stepfather.

The couple was allegedly preparing their Oklahoma and Los Angeles homes to welcome their child. An insider said Shelton had already bought a pink cowgirl hat and boots and had worked on building some things in the nursery, like the crib.
