According to Nielsen/MRI Fusion statistics, FNC also garnered the most politically varied audience among cable news networks, with more Democrats, Republicans, and Independents tuning in to the network than to any other in both total viewers and the younger A25-54 demo. With 53% of the overall day viewership in the 25-54 demographic this year, FNC had the second-highest share of the cable news audience in its history. In terms of overall viewers, FNC attracted 55% of the primetime viewership.
Suzanne Scott, CEO of Fox News Media, noted that 2022 was proof that the network boasted an enviable skill to deliver innovative news and program that skyrocketed FNC straight to the top of the most politically diverse news list. Scott expressed her pride in the name of the entire team.
FNC released the top 13 list in cable news, and some of the names are Tucker Carlson Tonight, Special Report with Bret Baier, Jesse Watters Primetime, The Five, Outnumbered, Faulkner New, and so on.
With 2.9 million viewers and 396K in the A25-54 demographic, Jesse Watters Primetime (weeknights, 7 PM/ET) outperformed the competition in every category in 2022 and produced the highest-rated 7 PM/ET hour in cable news history.
The cable news landscape for wake-up shows continues to be dominated by FOX & Friends, FNC’s iconic morning brand. With 1.4 million viewers and 232,000 in the A25-54 market, FOX & Friends (6-9 AM/ET) beat CNN and MSNBC together in viewers and the young demo for the 22nd consecutive year.
In terms of viewers (1.8 million) and the younger A25-54 demo, Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo (10-11 AM/ET) ended the year as the weekend’s highest-rated program (245,000). The only public affairs program that saw increases in the younger A25-54 demo over last year was FOX News Sunday with Shannon Bream, which averaged 1.1 million viewers and 283,000 in the A25-54 demographic.
Obviously the liberal networks have a lot to learn. CNN, MSNBC, they all seem to have trouble keeping up with the kings of media ratings.
