Chad and Lauren had just had their new baby girl, Everly, in November of 2014, but Lauren had no idea Chad planned to make that day even more special than it already was.

Roughly 24 hours after delivering her baby girl, Chad had put his secret plan into motion. All he had to do was make sure that Lauren saw the surprise written on her newborn’s onesie. On the onesie, Chad had written, “Mommy, will you marry Daddy?” Once Lauren saw the outfit and the ring that was attached, she was shocked.

Chad said that the proposal took a lot of planning. Apparently, he had sought help from Lauren’s cousin in order to come up with the proposal idea before Everly was born. Members of Chad and Lauren’s family were in the hospital room when the proposal happened, and they were all in on the secret. Even Lauren’s nurses knew about the surprise and helped to ensure that everything went smoothly.

In the video, Lauren’s aunt, who had been holding the newborn baby, told her that she had a dirty diaper. She passed the baby to Lauren, who then started to take off the blanket to change her.

Her family encourages her to show them the baby and let them see her without the blanket wrapped around her. Once the baby was unwrapped and she saw the message, Lauren was thrilled, and immediately asked if it was really happening. Not surprisingly, she said yes.
