The 70s were a special time and this song was played many times over the era. ????
When it comes to legends in the world of music, there are many bands that may come to mind.

The Bee Gees are as legendary as they come.

After cementing themselves in the music industry with decades of success all across the globe, the time has finally come to pay tribute.

Of course, what’s a tribute without a star-studded concert?

While the entire concert was filled with memorable performances, one country artist blew everyone away with his tribute.

Keith Urban’s played “To Love Somebody”.

CBS broadcasted the special, “Stayin’ Alive: A GRAMMY Salute To The Music Of The Bee Gees” – a tribute concert that was held in L.A.’s Microsoft Theater.

A long list of musical artists was prepared for the event, which included Ed Sheeran, Pentatonix, Demi Lovato, Little Big Town, and even the female powerhouse Celine Dion.

The Bee Gee’s only remaining member Barry Gibb was also in attendance, both as an audience member and a performer.

Celebrating 4 decades of Saturday Night Fever.
The tribute show was in celebration of the 40-year anniversary of the 1977 Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, put on by The Recording Academy.

Saturday Night Fever is a classic film starring John Travolta, yet, the music itself made a huge splash.

The Bee Gees made a major contribution to the soundtrack with hits like, “Stayin’ Alive” and “Night Fever.”

In 1978, it brought home the Grammy-Award for “Album of the Year,” which the Bee Gees accepted at the ceremony (representing everyone involved).

The Bee Gees’ career took shape during the late fifties in Australia.

They were a family affair.

The band consisted of eldest brother Barry Gibb and his twin brothers Maurice and Robin Gibb.

Sadly, Maurice passed away in 2003 and Robin in 2012.

To honor the band and their long successful history in the music business, a song list was created with Saturday Night Fever hits and other popular tracks..

“Too Much Heaven” and “Immortality” were also covered.

New Zealand-born country singer, Keith Urban, was selected to perform a version of “To Love Somebody.”

The song was released by the Bee Gees in 1967 on their Bee Gees’ 1st album.

Urban took the stage at the “Stayin’ Alive: A GRAMMY Salute To The Music Of The Bee Gees” event with his guitar.

Back-up vocalists and musicians also joined him for the performance.

Only moments after Urban belts out the first lyrics, the camera pans over to Barry Gibbs.

Gibbs appears entranced by Keith’s tribute.

During the concert, photographs of the group flash on screens in the background.

Combined with the classic song and Urban’s beautiful vocals it’s a goosebump-inducing performance.

In an interview, Keith Urban complimented the Bee Gees songwriting talents. He told Recording Academy Grammy Awards:

“The thing I’m amazed at is how they maintained such quality of songwriting through decades and so many stylistic changes in music through those periods. And the songcraft level was always extraordinary.”

At one point, Urban really rocks out.

The energy of the room is incredible. It even transforms into an audience sing-along where everyone gets involved.

But like icing on the cake, getting to see Barry’s reactions all the way through is priceless.

Not only did the audience and television viewers enjoy Urban’s spectacular performance – but the internet’s been blown away by it too. One person shared on Facebook:

“Wow! Bee Gees are hard to duplicate! But Keith, as always, hits a home run! To take their phenomenal song and sing it with so much emotions. I LOVE everything he sings!”

This is one incredible tribute that has to be seen to be believed.

Please SHARE this with your friends and family.
